P Stands For ?

There are a myriad of jokes and names given to a man’s most loved body part.. namely his penis and while both men and women spend an inordinate amount of time talking about this appendage it is often with little regard to its real health and well-being.

Men and their partners forget that Prostate cancer is a silent killer, it is all too often neglected in the discussion between husbands and wives, dad’s and sons and the family in general. So we suggest you start a conversation over a meal about this very curable cancer, all it takes is a blood test, what do you have to loose?

I am sure you are thinking what on earth does this have to do with a food site? Well quite a lot as the Prostate Cancer Association of Australia is launching its third Table4Ten event and this one is going to be huge.

I went along to the launch recently, held in the beautiful Astral private dining room and got up close and personal with this years organisers,
Robbie Robertson, Wendy Farrow  and Darren Rudd.  The meal,  a showcase of food from three regions was superb.

The entreé was created by Fiona Hoskin from Launceston Tasmania and was a light beautiful dish of Tasmanian ocean trout tartare, Tobika caviar in a tomato consommé.

The main had all the makings of a mans dish which, I naturally polished off well before anyone else. This was a typical Sean Connolly dish cooked perfectly the certified Angus Beef Hollandaise, king mushrooms and miso seeded mustard & jus gras was balanced and hearty.

Stepping into nature with a dessert so beautiful I had a hard time contemplating eating it. Kym Machin from Brisbane Queensland designed a birds nest with the following flavours, Chai, yoghurt, chocolate, almond & honey. It was breathtaking.

This event kicks of the 2010 Table4Ten and to read all about it and to get involved visit http://www.t4t.com.au
