Frying Friday

My friend John Susman who knows a fair bit about fish, recently declared Stephen Hodges, Chef/Owner of Fish Face one of the best fish chefs in the world. The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide must have agreed as Fish Face has just been anointed with a coveted hat. A large tick to a very small establishment.

More importantly, Fish Face is the venue for our exclusive FoodinFocus lunch this Friday from 12-1pm. I usually don’t bang on too much about big brands unless they are doing something very helpful and healthy but Tefal is doing just that. If it’s good enough for Steve it’s good enough for me. The ActiFry takes one spoon of oil and does all the work of frying for you. No more unhealthy dinners and in my case no more fire alarms!

I have had the chance to see the ActiFry at work when Ben and Deb, contestants on the last My Kitchen Rules TV show brought it in to the radio studio. Ben cooked his home-grown Saltbush Lamb and some crunchy chips. Ben and Deb love the ActiFry and given the results I am not surprised. A little olive oil, season with salt and pepper, give it ten minutes and the lamb is perfectly cooked on the outside and pink on the inside, delicious!
